St. Peter’s By-the-Sea Presbyterian Church in Huntington Beach, California, is seeking a part-time for a Director of Children & Youth Ministry. Provide experiences for children, youth, and families in order to build a biblical foundation for spiritual development and a lifelong relationship with Jesus. Our vision at St. Peter’s is to be a vibrant, flourishing, multigenerational, Christ-centered community experiencing grace, practicing gratitude, and extending generosity in order to glorify God in all things.

Essential Functions:

•

Plan and lead Sunday school curriculum for children to K-8th.

•

Work with Pastor, Growing Team to develop a vision and mission for Children and Youth Ministry.

•

Lead, develop and support other programs such as Kids Night Out, and other programs for Easter and Christmas seasons.

•

Facilitate a welcoming atmosphere for children and families.

•

Meet with the Pastor and Growing Team to coordinate the curriculum to be in line with the theology and mission of the church.

•

Recruit and supervise volunteer nursery/childcare staff.

•

Communicate with children, youth and families using various social mediums.

•

Attend monthly Growing Team meetings and staff meetings as required.

•

Perform any other staff responsibilities as part of the staff team under the direction of Pastor/Head of Staff.

Qualifications:

A desire to see children and youth grow in Christ.

Min. 2 years experience in planning, directing and coordinating children and youth ministry.

Proven organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills.

Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 lbs. and participate in physical activities.

Ability to form relationships with all ages of children and youth.
