Job Description

Job Title: “Audio-Visual Technician” for Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Garden Grove.

Job Overview:

The Audio-Visual Technician has a broad knowledge of and experience using computer,

audio, video, projection, and multimedia technologies in recorded and live production

settings. The AV Technician’s primary role is to provide live-event audio-visual support at

the 9:00 am Sunday worship service.

Duties:

1. Operate audio visual equipment at worship services for the purpose of audio-visual

display, amplification, recording and/or live streaming.

2. Provide AV technical support for the main sanctuary.

3. Troubleshoot and resolve any problems with software and equipment used in the

main sanctuary for display, projection, recording, and/or live streaming.

4. Recommend replacement or additional equipment and/or software to maintain or

enhance the display, projection, recording, and/or live streaming of services.

5. Cross-train and/or assist with audio-visual media production.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

1. Ability to work Sunday mornings to support worship and online services.

2. Experience and familiarity with a variety of audio, video, and lighting equipment

and technologies for recording and live streaming.

3. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues and/or problems with audio and visual

systems.

4. Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies; adapt to an ever-evolving field.

5. Adept and enthusiastic about learning new technologies and skills.

6. Ability to collaborate with individuals and teams who participate and contribute to

the worship service (e.g., musicians, singers, speakers, etc.).

Audio Visual Technician

Part-time

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in media or related field is desired but not required; one (1) year of

audio visual technology experience within higher education or an equivalent combination

of education and experience.

Pay range is $25 to $35/hour, depending on education and experience. This position is

part-time, requiring approximately two to three hours per week; no paid vacation or sick

time or other benefits are provided.
