🎓 Internship and Volunteer Program Overview

Time Commitment: 10–20 hours per week

Internship Type: Unpaid, educational internship

Location Type: In-Person (Bellflower, CA)

Fields of Interest: Public Health, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Health Informatics, or related fields

Program Objective:

To provide students with real-world experience in hospice operations, compliance, patient-centered care, and community-based health services.

✅ Intern Responsibilities

Interns will work closely with the administrative and clinical teams to support day-to-day operations and quality improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

1. Survey Checklist Preparation

Creating binders for state or Joint Commission surveys

Organizing documents on emergency preparedness, policies and procedures, infection prevention, and contracts


2. Creating Admission Packets

Assembling required materials and ensuring forms are up-to-date


3. Website Support

Editing and updating content

Basic site maintenance and troubleshooting


4. Compliance Related In-Service Development

Assisting in the creation of staff in-service training modules:

Core Regulatory Compliance

Clinical & Patient Care

Team & Operational Best Practices


5. Human Resources Assistance

Reviewing and thinning employee files

Ensuring documentation completeness and compliance


6. Grant Writing

Assisting with research and drafting of proposals for hospice-related funding opportunities
