🎓 Internship and Volunteer Program Overview
Time Commitment: 10–20 hours per week
Internship Type: Unpaid, educational internship
Location Type: In-Person (Bellflower, CA)
Fields of Interest: Public Health, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Health Informatics, or related fields
Program Objective:
To provide students with real-world experience in hospice operations, compliance, patient-centered care, and community-based health services.
✅ Intern Responsibilities
Interns will work closely with the administrative and clinical teams to support day-to-day operations and quality improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Survey Checklist Preparation
○ Creating binders for state or Joint Commission surveys
○ Organizing documents on emergency preparedness, policies and procedures, infection prevention, and contracts
2. Creating Admission Packets
○ Assembling required materials and ensuring forms are up-to-date
3. Website Support
○ Editing and updating content
○ Basic site maintenance and troubleshooting
4. Compliance Related In-Service Development
○ Assisting in the creation of staff in-service training modules:
■ Core Regulatory Compliance
■ Clinical & Patient Care
■ Team & Operational Best Practices
5. Human Resources Assistance
○ Reviewing and thinning employee files
○ Ensuring documentation completeness and compliance
6. Grant Writing
○ Assisting with research and drafting of proposals for hospice-related funding opportunities
